About This Tea
About This Tea
Our White Peony, also called Bai Mu Dan, is sourced from tea gardens in Fuding, China, picked in the spring and lightly processed. This tea is made with one bud and two leaves and, when stored properly, this tea gets better with age. This tea has a fuller flavor than other white teas. The notes of hay, miso, and roasted vegetables make it perfect for new and discerning tea drinkers.
Origin: China | Tea Style: Loose
Brewing Instructions
Brewing Instructions
This tea has an exceptional sweetness and complexity when brewed in the gong fu style. We suggest first washing the tea–a quick brew that is then discarded–to allow the leaves to open up. This tea can be brewed 8-10 times in the gong fu style. Be sure to compare each steep (they will vary a lot!). Alternatively, this tea can be brewed in a mug for a stronger flavor.
Brewing Temp: 185°F | 85°C
