About This Tea
About This Tea
Our Osmanthus oolong is grown in Mae Salong, Chiang Rai in northern Thailand. The tea is scented with osmanthus blossoms before the majority are picked out of the tea, leaving just a few flowers. While most osmanthus oolongs in this area are very lightly oxidized, this oolong has a slightly higher oxidation level and has been very lightly roasted to balance the sweet floral flavor of the osmanthus flowers. This tea is a perfect complement to a cold day and is lovely as iced tea or cold brew.
Origin: Thailand | Tea Style: Loose
Brewing Instructions
Brewing Instructions
We recommend rinsing the tea–a quick brew that is then discarded–to allow the leaves to open up. This tea can be brewed 8-10 times in the gong fu style. Be sure to compare each steep (they will vary a lot!). Alternatively, this tea can also be brewed in a mug. We suggest using an infuser with a large opening to allow the leaves as much room as possible to open up.
