About This Tea
About This Tea
Doi Mae Salong is the center of tea cultivation in Northern Thailand and produces many exceptional oolong teas, including our Jin Xuan Oolong. While the bright, yellow-green liquor might suggest a light flavor, this tea is surprisingly robust. It has a medium-bodied, earthy flavor that is balanced by notes of cucumber, honeysuckle, and chrysanthemum, creating an exceptional green oolong. Jin Xuan Oolong, also know as Oolong No. 12 or Milk Oolong, is highly sought after for the creamy mouthfeel it creates.
Origin: Thailand | Tea Style: Loose
Brewing Instructions
Brewing Instructions
We recommend rinsing the tea–a quick brew that is then discarded–to allow the leaves to open up. This tea can be brewed 8-10 times in the gong fu style. Be sure to compare each steep (they will vary a lot!). Alternatively, this tea can also be brewed in a mug. We suggest using an infuser with a large opening to allow the leaves as much room as possible to open up.
