Puerh Tangerine Cold Brew

Puerh Tangerine Cold Brew

Summer is starting, so cool off with cold brew puerh tea, made with our puerh tangerines! This cold brew is easy to make and refreshing on a warm, humid day. This is part one of our summer iced tea series. We will be posting new cold brew and iced tea recipes each week so follow for more!

As someone who was born and raised in the south, iced tea is essential to any warm afternoon. However, as a tea lover, the tea that is typically used for iced tea is... not great. So let's give iced tea a face lift with the first in our series of iced tea tips and brews: puerh tangerine cold brew!

One of the great things about puerh is that the tea leaves can be steeped over and over, which makes it a perfect candidate for cold brew tea. For our cold brew, we recommend starting off with a puerh tangerine that has been steeped a few times. This will make sure the leaves have opened up, and removes any astringency that can come with the first steep of puerh. From there, it's really simple. Just add your puerh tangerine to a pitcher or large cold brew vessel, and fill with room temperature or cold water. Let this sit in your fridge for a few hours or overnight to brew. Then give it a stir before serving over ice!

Tip: Since puerh can be brewed so many times, keep topping off your cold brew in the pitcher for a few days, or until it starts to get weak. I was able to make my pitcher with a single tangerine last for just about a week!
